I Finally Tried THIS Unique Hair Accessory . . . and I Love It!

You know those things you really want to try, but never seem to get around to? Maybe it’s a delicious-looking recipe, an adorable dress pattern, or a fun craft with the kids. With me, that list of never-did-get-around-to’s grows longer and longer each year. Oh, well. At least there’s one thing I did this year that I’d always really wanted to do!

Alot of you may have already heard of the Lilla Rose “Flexi Clips.” I had, and I thought they were just too cute and wanted to try them out for myself. I hope you will enjoy this video I prepared for you all, showing several ways I’ve been using my new Flexi.

One of my good friends actually sent me one as a gift right before I cut my hair to below shoulder length, a couple years ago. Since the one she sent me was an Extra-Extra Large, I unfortunately couldn’t use it, though I’m saving it, believe me! My hair has since grown to waist length, and I plan on letting it continue. Recently, I met another very nice lady, Sarah Morris, who offered to let me try the Flexi Clip for free in order to see how I liked it. My answer was immediately, Yes! I ordered one in Large, to see how that would fit.

I think I might have done better to get it another size up, but that’s okay. I’ve been able to use the Flexi successfully these past few months to get my hair out of the way while caring for our new baby (now four months!). On the Lilla Rose site, there is a helpful sizing chart you can use as a guideline in ordering the right size. I did use that, but I think I may not have considered how fast my hair is growing. Just something to remember.

As with anything else that’s new, there was a learning curve to using the Flexi Clip. I had to figure out a different method than I had been used to of gathering my hair and securing it, without any stray pieces escaping (though some people don’t mind that). The really good thing is, that it wasn’t too much work. Part of my problem, I’ve discovered, is that my hair is at just the right length for the ends of my hair to fall out the bottom of my bun when I wrap it; if my hair were a few inches longer (or shorter), the pieces would wind up near the top of my bun (which is where I like to place the Flexi Clip) instead of the bottom. The solution to that is probably just patience, while my hair grows more.

So, here’s a quick summary of what I believe are the advantages, and also the possible drawbacks of the Flexi Clip, for any of you who might be interested:

Advantages:

Easy to use. Doesn’t require a lot of bobby pins.

Fast. Minimal time involved.

Practical. Great way to manage long hair (or short) in a pinch.

Beautiful. So many styles to choose from, and all of them gorgeous!

Possible Drawbacks:

-Takes practice to use.

-Though adjustable, still needs to be a close fit in order to work properly.

-Can cost more than other types of hair accessories.

In my opinion, the advantages outweigh the possible drawbacks, which can all be overcome with only a little extra effort. After trying out the Flexi Clip over the past few months, I’ve become a believer in all its rewarding, positive points!

I don’t do this often, but I thought it was worth it to share Lilla Rose with you all, and help you meet Sarah, my stylist. Isn’t her profile picture lovely? I can just imagine her helping her family at home, while doing a Lilla Rose business on the side. I’m so grateful to have been able to meet her! Thank you, Sarah, for all your help!

  1. What beautiful and yet simple hair styles! I’m so glad you are loving the flexi clip! I love mine too and wear them every day! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!

  2. For some reason Blogger has been slow in letting me know there are new posts in my blog list. Every since they updated their system I’ve had issues. Anyway, that clip looks really cute. I like the way Lila Rose products look but since I wear my headcovering all the time I wouldn’t be able to use them. ☹

    1. Hi Regina,

Thank you for your interest in the Lilla Rose product! There are actually some very simple flexi clips (not fancy :)) or swerve pins that ladies who wear headcoverings all the time love to use. They love the way they hold their hair and are so much easier and more comfortable than bobby pins.

If you have any questions about anything or if I can help you in any way, I’d be happy to do so!

    2. I use mine all the time too, but you can still wear the flexi clip under it, like my friends who first introduced me to the flexi clip do. Their church standards don’t allow any jewelry, but because the flexi clip is hidden it’s alright. It’s just about the way it manages to keep the hair up all day and the knowledge that your hair is extra elegant that day. It’s not about showing off, after all 🙂

  3. I had one of those clips a while back and it was so nice once I managed to get it in. My hair stayed in place all day. But it hurt my finger tips trying to fasten the clip and I think it was at least one size too small so I gave it to my sister who doesn’t use it. But now I’ve ordered a new one (size XL with a pretty butterfly) and when it arrives I’ll try it again. I really think it could work out well. Thanks for bringing my attention to this!

Did you also have trouble finding something that was available in XL? I had to skip over so many pretty designs, simply because my size wasn’t available.

    1. Hi, Erika! You’re welcome!

I haven’t ordered the Flexi Clip in Extra Large yet, but I hope to soon, and then I will be able to tell you how it went. 🙂 I’m glad to hear that you’ve ordered a new Clip! I really hope you enjoy it!

  4. Thank you for introducing me to this product! It holds my hair back all day and doesn’t hurt or fall out like other bobby pins sometimes did. I use it every day now.

    1. I’m so happy to hear that you are pleased with your new Lilla Rose products! That’s wonderful to hear! If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to send me a message!
