Hello! My name is Jessica Roldan. I have a passion for Jesus, the Bible, and Biblical Womanhood. I also love to write!
When I was growing up in a small town in Arizona, I used to build forts in old trees and race bikes down dirt hills. With my scabby knees and tousled brown hair, I might have been characterized as a bit of a “tomboy.” However, that wouldn’t have been completely true of me, since I also loved to play with my American Girl doll, Felicity, and dress up in my grandmother’s vintage clothing from the 50’s and 60’s.
I always knew I wanted to grow up and be a mother to many beautiful babies. As I got older, the culture almost stole that dream away from me, whispering in my ear: “Wanting to be a wife and stay-at-home mother is not a big enough dream; you have to find a real career.” Thankfully, I didn’t listen.
Being a wife has allowed me to experience the beauty and excitement of marriage. There is no other human relationship as dynamic, intimate, or powerful. I cherish my husband and feel that submission to him is an honor.
Being a mother has allowed me to experience the joy and glory of the miracle of life. There is no other human privilege as precious, noble, or essential. I treasure my children and feel that each baby I allow God to send into the world through me is of inestimable value.

My transition into these roles was not smooth, however. My early adult years were tumultuous and painful. I have plenty of regrets resulting from the poor choices I made during that time. And yet, there was hope for me, as there is hope for those of you who may have gone through something similar:
Our past — though it fundamentally influences who we become — does not have to define us. Our past should be our teacher, not our master. We have the freedom to choose a better path and discover a new identity, in Christ.
Or, if we were already believers in Christ (as I was) who went through a time of temporary backsliding, we can re-discover our true identity, the one we’d lost touch with. I’m so thankful for God’s faithfulness and grace! His hand was always guiding me, even when I didn’t see it.

How Asking THESE Hard Questions Led Me Back to Faith
I still live in Arizona, where I joyfully manage a full-time career of housekeeping, child raising, and homeschooling, and enjoy writing and video-making when I have time.

The Bible has so much to say about being a woman, a wife, and a mother. In our society today, we have almost forgotten its teaching; but, we still have the chance to return to God’s perfect ways. I have a passion for it. Maybe you do, too. Let’s join together in living the feminine life God intended for us and in creating a Heavenly Hearth in each of our homes!
My goal in creating The Heavenly Hearth blog is to provide you with . . .

Inspiration,

(practical) Ideas
on topics related to Biblical Womanhood.
